My favorite audio apps!

Winamp plays MPEG Layer 2 (MP2) and Layer 3 (MP3) audio streams and combines extensive functionality with an intuitive interface. It has a full-featured playlist editor and a 10-band graphic equalizer with user-definable presets that can automatically load specific files. It also features Windows Media Technology 4.0 input/output support and the industry-standard Fraunhofer MP3 decoder.
Winamp, put simply, kicks butt. When it includes every feature I need, why look elsewhere?

My favorite miscellaneous apps!

NoteTab is a leading-edge text and HTML editor. Winner of top shareware industry awards in 1998, 1999, and 2000, this elegant application does it all: handle a stack of huge files with ease, format your text to your heart's content, use a spell-checker and thesaurus, and perform system-wide searches and multi-line global replacements. Build document templates, add bookmarks, convert text to HTML on the fly, and take charge of your code with a bunch of handy HTML tools. Use a simple, power-packed scripting language to create anything from a text macro to a mini-application.
NoteTab Pro totally rocks! This is absolutely a must-have utility. This is the 1st application I install whenever I'm setting up my system!
Iglyph Designs is the producer of Traymenu, a totally awesome little freeware app. It allows you to do the following:

Place shortcuts in system tray; organize shortcuts in pop up menus; expand folder shortcuts into cascaded menus. This is a very compact utility to explore your computer from the system tray.

Traymenu is a great tool, I use it all the time! Single click launch my favorite apps! Small, and totally easy to use!
WinZip Now WinZip brings the convenience of Windows to the use of Zip files and other compression formats. The optional wizard interface makes zipping and unzipping easier than ever. WinZip features built-in support for CAB files and for popular Internet file formats such as TAR, gzip, UUencode, BinHex, and MIME. ARJ, LZH, and ARC files are supported via external programs. WinZip interfaces to most virus scanners.
WinZip is another must-have... Most everything seems to come zipped, this undoes them! Another nice feature is auto-install of themes... Very nice...

My favorite internet apps!
Download Internet Explorer 5.5 (SP1) and Internet Tools (Internet Explorer 5.5 (SP1) is only available via download). This is the newest version of Internet Explorer, with benefits for consumers and developers alike. Internet Explorer 5.5 SP1 provides the latest updates and security fixes to the Internet Explorer technology. Internet Explorer 5.5 SP1 can be installed as an upgrade to existing versions of Internet Explorer or on computers with no previous Internet Explorer installation. You'll enjoy the ability to apply Connection Manager as your default dialer when Dial-Up Networking is already installed, preview Web pages exactly as they'll appear when printed with Print Preview, and with improved support for DHTML and CSS, Web architects will appreciate the greater control over browser appearance and behavior. It's never been easier to get online, find the information you need, and just do stuff faster.
Internet Explorer is M$'s web browser. You don't like M$? You don't like the fact that the browser is automatically in your OS? You know what? TOO BAD! I LOVE IT! :) If you don't like it, don't use it!. This one is my personal preference, so I want it to stick around!
NewsBin is a tool to help you find cool stuff in Newsgroups which are located on Usenet. NewsBin will scan newsgroups that you specify for binary attachments and will download and decode these attachments for you.  You can then use a picture viewer or a multimedia player to view or play the content you downloaded.
NewsBin totally rocks... It works really well to fill up my HD with all the pix or music files I might want... The fact that I have DSL makes this app shine!
There were so many features listed on their site, that I had to just drop it down to the headers... Here is the real features page...
  • MultiWire™ multi-threaded transfer engine
  • Fully customizable look and feel
  • Non-stop File Transfers
  • Drag'n drop user interface
  • Transfer Queue
  • Scheduling
  • Net Speed Tester

  • Advanced Features
  • System Support

3D FTP is the best FTP client I've seen to date. Very solid, multi-threaded, not to mention some really kickass skins! :)
ICQ is a revolutionary, user-friendly Internet tool that informs you who's on-line at any time and enables you to contact them at will. No longer will you search in vain for friends or associates on the Net. ICQ does the searching for you, alerting you in real time when they log on. The need to conduct a directory search each time you want to communicate with a specific person is eliminated.

With ICQ, you can chat, send messages, files and URL's, play games, or just hang out with your fellow 'Netters' while still surfing the Net.
I know, there's a half-dozen decent programs out there to do the same thing. But, I don't want to run a half-dozen different programs all at once, when this one does all I need... :)
